What are homophones and why do languages have homophones?

Homophones are words that have similar sounds but they have different meanings. There are times when they are also spelled in the same way and sometimes they don’t.

Learning homophones and understanding them can be a big task if you are a beginner in the English language! When you are learning homophones, it can be a difficult process to understand it because they sound the same. Do not forget to keep practicing!

There are several reasons the English language has homophones.
