Grammar rule 1 – NOUNS (SINGULAR AND PLURAL)

Once you begin learning a new language, Nouns will be the first thing you will learn and will come across. Basically, there are two types of nouns – singular and plural. The simplest way to remember is that singular means one and plural means many. Singular nouns refer to one place, person, thing, or idea. On the other hand, the plural is all about multiple people, places, things, and ideas.

For example,

  • Teacher = teachers
  • Drawing = drawings
  • Idea = ideas

Grammar rule 2 – PRONOUNS

The nouns in a sentence are replaced by pronouns and the words include I, You, He, She, It, They, We, Us, and Them. When nouns get repetitive in a sentence, we use pronouns without altering the meaning of the sentence.

For example,

  • She (Lima) eats late at night. (pronoun-she)
  • We (Kevin and Jackson) will be late today. (pronoun – we)

Grammar rule 3 – ADJECTIVES

Adjectives are used to describe or modify a noun and they are usually placed in front of the noun.

For example,

  • A sunny day
  • Huge ocean
  • Pretty flower
