Navratri 2022

Navratri 2022 is just around the corner, and it is celebrated twice a year. Firstly, it is celebrated in the month of Chaitra – meaning during the month of March and April, that’s Chaitra Navratri 2022. Secondly, it is celebrated in the month of Sharada – meaning October and December. In Sanskrit, the word Navratri stands for ‘nine’, which justifies the nine days of Navratri. Nine colors are dedicated for each day during the span of the 9-day festival.

Navratri 2022 – All you need to know!

Navratri is a Hindu festival and it lasts for a period of nine days. It is also celebrated in different ways in various parts of India. The primary idea or thought behind celebrating the festival is the victory of Goddess Durga or Goddess Kali.

It is between September 26 till October 4 when Sharad Navratri will be celebrated. Whereas next year, between 21 March and 30 March, Chaitra Navratri will be celebrated. Navratri 2022 will start on September 26 and will come to an end on October 4.

The nine colors of Navratri 2022 are:

Day 1 – White – dedicated to Goddess Brahmacharini – stands for love and loyalty

Day 2 – Red – dedicated to Goddess Kali – stands for strength and fierceness

Day 3 – Royal Blue – dedicated to Goddess Kushmanda – stands for warm energy

Day 4 – Yellow – dedicated to Goddess Skandmata

Day 5 – Green – dedicated to Goddess Katyayani – stands for growth and beginnings

Day 6 – Grey – dedicated to Goddess Kalaratri – stands for removing negativity

Day 7 – Orange – dedicated to Goddess Shailputri – stands for fire and energy

Day 8 – Peacock Green – dedicated to Goddess Siddhidhatri – stands for blessings of supernatural powers

Day 9 – Pink – dedicated to Goddess Mahagauri – stands for getting rid of life sufferings
